A Modular ECM Solution Can Earn More Executive Buy-InPresentation Abstract: The Massachusetts Housing Finance Agency (MassHousing) is a mortgage bank that lends money at rates below the conventional market to support rental and home ownership opportunities for low- and moderate-income residents.MassHousing entered into an agreement to administer and manage Section 8 housing contracts for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The lender’s existing paper-based processes were ill-equipped to comply with the intensive document and process tracking quality requirements imposed by HUD.
MassHousing incrementally implemented an ECM platform consisting of OnBase, a Hyland Software solution; Kofax Ascent Capture Software; and document scanners by Böwe Bell + Howell and Eastman Kodak. By integrating document imaging and automated workflow components, this ECM solution allowed MassHousing to meet HUD’s quality requirements and realize productivity gains of more than $350,000 per year.
