SPEAKERS

Hon. Thomas M. Menino
Mayor of Boston
Hon. Thomas M. Menino
Keynote Speaker: The Chapter is honored to present the Honorable Thomas M. Menino, Mayor of Boston, as its keynote speaker for the program. As Mayor, Mr. Menino oversees an extensive and varied infrastructure with widely disparate information requirements, and his unique perspective on information management will be of keen interest to everyone.

John Chickering
Vice President at Fidelity Investments

John ChickeringMr. Chickering will present his unique and often humorous perspective on "A Technologist's View of Information Management” taking us from the earliest known media recorded thousands of years ago through the Digital Age of the last 60 years.  Based on his experience of over 20 years in the ECM industry, Mr. Chickering will show us his view on how we manage information today using approaches that are startlingly similar to techniques used thousands of years ago. As we look ahead to what some call the Information Age, he'll examine how we can apply the promise of ECM tools, techniques and skills to deliver real business value.

John Cullinane
Board of Directors - JFK Library Foundation
John CullinaneMr. Cullinane will speak about the Library Foundation’s important functional and social missions, and will also share background on the Library’s current initiative to digitize every digital asset in the Library.  We are very fortunate to have such an accomplished and enlightened speaker to help us kick off our event. John Cullinane is on the board of the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation and was Chairman of the JFK Library Foundation’s Board for seven years from its inception in 1984. He was the founder of Cullinet Software Inc. in 1968 at a time when computer industry gurus said, “There was no future in computer software, it couldn’t be done, others had tried and failed and so would he.” Mr. Cullinane is currently the chairman of Live Data Inc, a software firm that is pioneering real time data integration and display for hospitals as a major contribution to patient safety by reducing the so-called “systems errors” that are the prime source of deaths in hospitals.

Peggy Winton
Vice President, AIIM International

Peggy WintonPeggy leverages her extensive background in and in-depth knowledge of the ECM marketplace in her presentation entitled “ECM Moves to the Mainstream: It’s Not Just for the Fortune 500 Anymore”.  ECM Technologies have matured and yet we are still at the early stages of an information management revolution and the way that organizations handle critical business documentation. End users “get” the importance of document management, but they just don’t know what to do about it. That reality is especially true at small to mid-sized organizations where paper-based processes have been replaced by electronic content enabled applications. Suddenly, the volume and variety of data moving in and out of their organizations is creating an urgent need to reduce business risk and improve efficiencies--just like at their larger counterpart organizations. And, while these businesses may have realized success with limited ECM technologies—usually applied to a departmental function--they must now look for ways to optimize their entire business processes. Hear the latest results of AIIM research conducted with hundreds of end users. Learn about the policies and practices, perceptions of what ECM technologies can accomplish, and the major business drivers for small to medium sized companies looking to expand their use of ECM technologies for a true enterprise approach.
