The AIIM New England Chapter is preparing for this year’s Horace Mann School Golf Benefit. This is an exciting event which is a key fundraising activity for one of the Boston’s great schools.
You can learn more about this event here, and register to participate here.
And to help “seal-the-deal,” we’ve included photos from the 2012 event. We hope to see you there. Continue reading
AIIM New England recently closed the books on the 2011-12 Chapter year, and we are pretty happy with the results. The Chapter organized 6 educational events, including our first event in the state of CT in recent memory. One of the educational events was a joint effort with ARMA Boston, strengthening a relationship with that fine organization. In addition, we held a purely social event in December that was well attended and may come to be dubbed with the “first annual” moniker. We supported the AIIM International ECM Roadshow last September and we held the very successful 17th Annual Golf Tournament and Dinner in support of the Horace Mann School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. But wait, there’s more! In June, the Chapter conducted AIIM’s ECM Practitioner Class for a small but extremely enthusiastic group of students in Waltham, MA.
So, a big Thank You to everyone who worked so hard to plan and produce these events, and a round of thanks to all of you who participated in these events. “Participated” is the right word, not “attended” because every event was successful due to combination of a timely theme, great speakers and thought-provoking interaction from the audience. That’s what AIIM NE is all about, and we should all be very proud for what the Chapter accomplished last year.
The Chapter Executive Board is currently planning the 2012-13 Chapter year, and we hope to continue to build on our recent success. We could use some help though; we need input, we need people who are willing to pitch in and help organize events, recruit sponsors and attend to the behind-the-scenes details that keeps the Chapter engine humming. Most of all, we need your continued support – renew your membership and plan on attending some of our events.
Pay careful attention to your inbox. We are trying to go easy on you, but we recently sent a request for you to complete a planning survey, and we will soon be sending you information about the first events of the New Year. If you didn’t get the survey request, shoot me an email and I will send you the details.
AIIM New England is pleased to congratulate three of its own upon their receipt of some of AIIM International’s highest awards:
– Dan Antion, Distinguished Service Award
– Mark Carter, AIIM Fellow
– Gene Pawlowski, Thomas C. Baggs Award
These honors were bestowed at last week’s AIIM12 Conference in San Francisco, where it was my privilege to accept on behalf of Gene Pawlowski.
Congratulations Dan, Mark, and Gene, on your well-deserved and hard-earned recognition!

Our joint meeting yesterday with ARMA Boston on the subject of SharePoint, content, and records management was a smashing success, with more than 60 people in attendance, much networking, and lots of good food both for the stomach and the thoughts!
I’ve recapped my key takeaways in a blog post here — hop on over if you like, and as always, let us know your impressions and desires so we can continue to make the Chapter work for you.
Meanwhile, here’s a photo of our panelists on parade: Dan Antion, Russ Edelman, and Sue Gibbons. Thanks to you all for your participation and perspectives!
