2009 Kickoff – Electronic Records: A CEO’s Perspective

Girish Kumar Nirvani oversees the strategic direction of eClinical Works, a market leader in ambulatory clinical systems. As co-founder, Navani has helped turn the company into one of the leading providers in the market, the 4th fastest growing private software company by Inc Magazine. In March 2008, Navani testified on Beacon Hill in favor of potential legislation that will help advance the adoption of electronic health records. Prior to founding eClinicalWorks, Navani led successful IT and business initiatives at Fidelity Investments, Teradyne and Aspen Technology.

DAVID COCHRAN – CEO VITL David Cochran served as the Senior Vice President of strategic development with Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and as the Vice President and Chief Medical Offcer of Lexant Corp.

Vermont Information  Technology Leaders, Inc. (VITL), is responsible for the supporting the deployment of Electronic Health Records throughout VT in support of the state’s ambitious health care reform initiatives. In addition, VITL manages Vermont’s statewide Health Information Exchange (HIE). Dr. Cochran will speak about the implementation of the HITECH Act at the state level and its intersection with health care reform initiatives.
