Kicking off The New Program Year
We are off to a great start! Thanks to all the leaders of the Chapter for taking part in our AIIM New England 2008/2009 planning meeting on Wednesday, June 25th. We discussed many important subjects for the upcoming year.
A few key points and our agreed upon action items:
Treasury:
We are a financially strong organization going into the 2008/2009 Chapter year.
Sponsorships:
Jane Shurtleff (Certeon) will be leading this endeavor this year. Our goal is to get as many Platinum, Gold, Silver and event sponsors as we can. Jane has created the latest benefits sheet and it is on the Chapter website
Programs:
Fresh off our June meeting at L’Andana, in Burlington, Nancy Muckle (Muckle and Associates) and Hikyu Lee (Softlinx) will be leading the activity of programs again this year. They are actively setting the course for our upcoming year, and the anticipated fall season is shaping up with a luncheon meeting in September, the ECM road show in October, and a 40th year celebration event in early December.
Marketing:
We are fortunate to have Barry Murphy from Mimosa Systems leading our marketing efforts this year. The Marketing chair has the vital task of informing members and customers of Chapter activities and services. This can be accomplished in many ways including; e-newsletters, Chapter website, Listservs®, broadcast emails and faxes, and advertisements.
Membership:
Joe Stewart from Vignette is going to lead the Membership efforts this year. Joe has a tremendous amount of energy and new ideas on how we can enhance our membership.
Awards:
Paul Montesino from Bentley College wants to get a fast start on the Award nominations this year. October is the “start” of the awards season, and Paul wants the New England Chapter to be the envy of the Association at the annual convention.
Golf:
On behalf of the 2008 AIIM New England Chapter Golf Benefit committee, I want to thank our professional members and company sponsors that shared in the success of the Horace Mann School Golf Benefit on July 14th. Bob Williams (Pratt & Whitney) and his committee organized a first class event again! We hope you can join us next year on July 13, 2009 at the Oakley Country Club, Watertown Massachusetts!
The New England Chapter of the AIIM Association has grown considerably in the last few years because of the three long-term trends that affect corporations regarding information management
- Trend One: The Proliferation of New Laws and Regulations
- Trend Two: The Impact of Technology on Records
- Trend Three: Increased Litigation and Regulatory Investigation
Come get involved with the Chapter and let us help you and your organization with the trends that are affecting us all.
Best wishes for a warm and pleasant summer.
